Superset Data Visualization and Dashboard Consulting Engagement
A major financial services firm sought to transition away from a proprietary, industry-leading BI solution for one of its core products. The goal was to migrate to an Open Source platform, specifically Superset, to achieve significant reductions in licensing costs.
Deliverables NobleProg engaged in several project meetings with the client to thoroughly understand the requirements, scope, risks, and technical environment. This analysis allowed us to develop a comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and monitor the project’s progress. Our lead consultant focused on aligning the existing data architecture with the specific reporting needs of each report type. We recommended optimizations to the data stores to maximize Superset’s capabilities and ensure optimal performance, while also guiding the internal team in implementing these changes. After optimizing the data store and pipeline, our consultants began building and deploying a diverse range of reports based on both established requirements and new requests from the business and its customers. To meet specific presentation needs, custom plug-ins were developed to enable more interactive data features, such as drill-down capabilities.
Outcome The consultants have been developing new dashboards while simultaneously ensuring that sufficient knowledge is transferred to the client’s organization for ongoing maintenance of the dashboards and reports. The project is currently ongoing and has been well-received by both the client’s business units and their end-users. Highlighting its success, the engagement has been expanded to include additional products and customer segments.
