We recently successfully completed a RabbitMQ consultancy engagement for the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK:

We evaluated several potential providers of RabbitMQ expertise. It was easy to quickly select NobleProg to support our efforts to scale the website, as they immediately engaged by asking about the steps already taken and their results, helping us narrow down the areas to investigate and ensuring they provided the correct skill set to take the investigation further.

Following initial discussions, it was agreed that someone with both strong RabbitMQ knowledge and comfort in the .NET environment was needed, which NobleProg precisely delivered. Given access to the test site and code, the NobleProg consultant swiftly identified the primary issue affecting RabbitMQ connections and offered both tactical and long-term architectural fixes.

After implementing the recommended RabbitMQ connection changes, our load testing showed the immediate issue was resolved. However, questions remained regarding the manageability of the site using the configuration options within the code, as well as a potential future bottleneck visible in load testing but beyond current usage. At this point, the consultant's ability to look beyond RabbitMQ and quickly understand the application itself was a great help in providing not just a fix for the immediate issue, but also a significantly more manageable system that addressed the 'tomorrow’s bottleneck'.

Design a topology for the RabbitMQ deployment that meets the functional requirements while remaining as simple and stable as possible
Meet the requirement in terms of load handling and absorbing load spikes, and meet the requirement for high availability.
Implement JMeter scripts (.jmx files) to load test the RabbitMQ deployment.
Analyze results and enhance performance following load testing.

Deliverables: A document describing the conceived RabbitMQ topology.
A document describing the RabbitMQ configuration for that specific topology.
JMeter scripts.
A document describing the performance approach (how to interpret the performance and behavior of RabbitMQ under heavy load).

Outcome: All deliverables were successfully completed.
