Course Outline

Participants will learn how to:

  • Customize the interface.
  • Define project dimensions.
  • Position guides within the project, including setting up column distributions.
  • Save project files.
  • Utilize the tool palette.
  • Import text and graphics from external files and programs, including Microsoft Office.
  • Work with text frames and graphics in Adobe InDesign.
  • Employ tools for editing text and graphics.
  • Create decorative text effects.
  • Link text boxes into a continuous flow.
  • Build a personal library of helpful assets.
  • Create custom styles, symbols, characters, graphics, fonts, and colors.
  • Save time by using tools to quickly switch between styles they have created.
  • Create patterns for repetitive projects.
  • Work with colors across various palettes.
  • Work with multi-page documents.
  • Apply page numbering and section settings.
  • Manage externally linked files.
  • Print the document.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with vector and raster graphics is beneficial but not mandatory.
