This course provides a foundational understanding of the core principles behind Power Virtual Agents, Power Automate, and Power Apps, along with a brief, high-level introduction to Power BI. The curriculum is centered around a real-world workflow I previously managed manually. We will construct a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to monitor tasks associated with newly constructed homes, storing the relevant data in SharePoint for simplicity. Subsequently, we will leverage Power Virtual Agents to demonstrate how users can enable bots within Microsoft Teams. These bots will guide participants to the locations of documents scattered across various SharePoint sites, such as loan agreements, budget sheets, and sales contracts. I have identified significant potential for these bots within HR and IT departments to manage repetitive inquiries efficiently. The instruction continues with setting up straightforward Power Automate flows. For instance, we will configure flows to archive attachments from specific senders—in this scenario, inspection reports organized by a bank—and implement additional simple flows to capture data from Microsoft Forms into SharePoint. We will also construct fully automated processes utilizing the Approvals app within Microsoft Teams. After completing the App, Bot, and Flow components, the final phase involves generating a simple Power BI report. We will use Power Automate to dispatch a snapshot of the table containing the most recent completed tasks every two weeks to a designated recipient (the bank in our example). This request will include the dates the tasks were finalized and their corresponding budget amounts, all of which are captured within the App. Please note that this course remains at a high level. I encourage all learners to employ ChatGPT for more technical aspects, such as coding or formula creation in Power Apps. However, we will cover this topic within the course, demonstrating how to effectively utilize ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas.
