Presentation Skills

  • Delivery of a pre-prepared presentation on a work-related topic of the participant's choice.

Note: The duration of each participant's presentation depends on the overall course length and the number of attendees. Eight participants is considered the ideal group size.

  • Comprehensive one-on-one and group feedback

Preparing a Presentation

  • Key questions the presenter should address in advance:
    • Why am I the right person for this?
    • Logistics: what, where, when, how – and how long?
    • How do these answers influence the presentation's structure?
  • Structuring the content:
    • Research – gain a deep understanding of the subject
    • Organize the content logically
    • Create and utilize complementary visual aids

Preparing the Presenter

  • The presenter's three core communication tools:
    • Verbal – choosing appropriate words and avoiding slang or jargon
    • Vocal – modulating tone and avoiding distracting verbal habits or tics
    • Visual – the presenter's appearance: attire, body language, and overall presence
  • Rehearsing the presentation and obtaining honest feedback from a trusted source
  • Strategies for managing nervousness

Preparing the Environment

  • Room layouts – and how they subtly convey messages to the audience
  • Leveraging the room to enhance the overall presentation experience

Presentation Skills – Revisited

  • Delivery of a second presentation (after a suitable preparation period).

Note: This may be the same presentation as in Module 1, revised based on detailed feedback.

  • Comprehensive one-on-one and group feedback
